For a real 'if', add -se/-sa after the aorist (-ir/-ur): mezun olursam = 'if I graduate'. On the bare stem it becomes a daydream: param olsa = 'if I had money'. And umarım ('I hope') softens any plan that isn't certain yet.
Next time someone asks about your plans after graduation, you can answer with a real maybe — hopeful, conditional, and still true even if it changes.
