This Privacy Policy explains how zeeza.ai (“zeeza”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use Zeeza/zeeza.ai websites, mobile apps, and related services (the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to this Policy.
If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
1) Who we are & scope

This Policy applies to all users, including students, parents/guardians, educators, and institutional partners using Zeeza.ai (consumer app) or Zeeza Campus (institutional edition).
2) Information we collect
A. Information you provide
Account & profile: name, email, password (hashed), preferences (e.g., language, grade/role), optional institution/school.
Learning content: prompts/questions, text, images (e.g., photos of homework), PDFs, documents, voice inputs, and other materials you upload for processing (e.g., summaries, flashcards, explanations).
Communications: feedback, support requests, survey responses.
Billing: limited subscription/entitlement metadata from payment platforms (we do not store full card data).
B. Information collected automatically
Technical data: IP address, device identifiers, device type, OS/browser, app version, time zone, language, crash logs.
Usage data: pages/screens viewed, events/actions, session duration, referral URLs, anonymized performance metrics.
Cookies/SDKs: used for authentication, security, analytics, performance, and—where legally permitted—product communications.
C. Information from institutional partners (Zeeza Campus)
When your school/university integrates Zeeza Campus, we may receive limited roster/role or curriculum context needed to enable institutional features, under a separate contract with that institution.
3) How we use information (purposes & legal bases)
We process information to:
Provide and operate the Services: authenticate users, process uploaded content into explanations/summaries/flashcards/quizzes, deliver features, maintain entitlements, and enable notifications.
Legal bases: contract performance; legitimate interests.
Personalize and improve: adapt difficulty, language/curriculum alignment, run diagnostics, improve safety/quality, and perform A/B testing.
Legal bases: legitimate interests; consent where required.
Support, safety, and integrity: respond to requests; detect/prevent fraud, abuse, or academic dishonesty; protect users and our Services.
Legal bases: legitimate interests; legal obligations.
Payments and subscriptions: manage purchases, renewals, refunds, taxes, compliance with platform rules.
Legal bases: contract performance; legal obligations.
Product communications: transactional emails and, where permitted, optional product updates.
Legal bases: legitimate interests; consent where required (opt-out anytime).
Research & analytics: generate aggregated or de-identified insights to develop and optimize the Services and, for institutions, to provide non-PII reporting.

4) AI processing & your content
When you submit content (e.g., photos of worksheets, PDFs, notes, voice), our systems transform it to generate educational outputs (explanations, summaries, flashcards, quizzes).
We apply content safety controls, rate limits, and fair-use rules to prevent misuse (e.g., automated cheating).
Ownership: You retain ownership of content you upload. You grant us a limited license to process and display that content solely to provide and improve the Services (see Terms).
Sensitive content: Please avoid uploading content containing personal data of others unless you have permission or a legal basis.
5) Cookies/SDKs & preferences
We use cookies and mobile SDKs for authentication, session continuity, performance, analytics, and product messaging. Where required by law, we present a consent banner and honor your preferences. You can manage cookies through your browser and manage app permissions in device settings.
6) How we share information
We may share information with:
Service providers/processors under contract who support hosting, security, analytics, messaging, payments, subscription management, or support; they act on our instructions and are bound by confidentiality and data protection obligations.
Institutional partners (Zeeza Campus) to deliver the contracted service (e.g., anonymized usage, progress signals, or curriculum alignment reports), pursuant to a data-sharing or processing agreement.
Legal and compliance recipients where required by law, to protect users, or to defend our rights.
Business transfers in the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to appropriate safeguards.
We do not sell personal information. We do not permit third parties to use personal data for their own direct marketing.
7) International transfers
Data may be processed and stored in multiple jurisdictions. Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards (e.g., standard contractual clauses) and technical/organizational measures to protect data subject rights. For students in regions with data-localization requirements, we work with institutions to configure compliant deployments where feasible.
8) Retention
Account & profile data: retained while your account is active. Upon deletion or inactivity, we delete or anonymize within a commercially reasonable period, subject to legal retention requirements.
Uploaded content & outputs: retained for your feature history, troubleshooting, and quality controls; you may delete individual items where supported.
Analytics & logs: kept for limited periods, then aggregated or deleted.
9) Your rights
Depending on your region (e.g., GDPR/UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or object/restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise rights, contact legal(at)zeeza.ai. We may verify identity before responding. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
10) Children & students
Consumer app: Not directed to children under 13 (or higher local age of digital consent) without verifiable parental consent.
Zeeza Campus: When provided through schools/universities, we process student data under the institution’s direction and applicable law. Institutions are responsible for obtaining any required consents and for classroom policy compliance.
Parents/guardians may request access or deletion regarding a child’s account via legal(at)zeeza.ai.
